Sonfire is a prayer community that's pursuing the dream of seeing a house of prayer open 24-7 in Edmonton. Our dream is to have this house of prayer facilitated by a fine arts community, dedicated to the transformation of both the city of Edmonton, and the world. We believe that this can only be done through prayer and radical living.
"Praying like it all depends on us. And living like it all depends on God"

LAST RHYTHM OF THE YEAR!

So we are planning our next rhythm for the 26th of November. That's one week to sign up for a time slot. Remember that this is the last rhythm we will be having for 2009. You can see the sign up sheet below to find out when others are praying. You can join them or e-mail sonfire_prayer@hotmail.com with the time slot you want.
Remember to spread the word about this week.
Hope to see you there, (10623 76 AVE)
Devon

I wanted to share something that the Lord has been showing me that last couple weeks. I have been seeing a picture of Heaven and earth. The only thing separating them is a thin "membrane". It was like the roof of a tent in a rain storm. It was getting heavier and heavier with blessings, healing, miracles, signs, wonders, revival, etc...
Every time I would pray about this, the bulge was bigger and it was even starting to leak.
My prayer for our next rhythm is that we would rip open the heavens with our prayers and see heaven pour down over our city and our lives.

Why we pray

I found this Hymn in a Hymn book that Kate left in the Prayer room. I love because it is so the heart of 24-7 Prayer. The continual prayer of the church world wide...

The day thou gavest, Lord, is ended
The day thou gavest, Lord, is ended,
the darkness falls at thy behest;
to thee our morning hymns ascended,
thy praise shall sanctify our rest.
We thank thee that thy Church,
unsleepingwhile earth rolls onward into light,
through all the world her watch is keepingand rests not now by day nor night.
As o'er each continent and island
the dawn leads on another day,
the voice of prayer is never silent,nor dies the strain of praise away.
The sun that bids us rest is wakingour brethren 'neath the western sky,
and hour by hour fresh lips are makingthy wondrous doings heard on high.
So be it, Lord;
thy throne shall never,
like earth's proud empires, pass away;thy kingdom stands, and grows for ever,
till all thy creatures own thy sway.
